Rashid Al Dhaheri, a rising star in the universe of Motorsport racing has made his fans and the country’s heart swell with pride as he secured a podium finish at the UAE F4 Championship conducted at the mecca for racing enthusiasts, the Yas Marina Circuit.

What’s even more spectacular is that among 35 novice race car driver trainees, Rashid Al Dhaheri achieved the commendable feat being just 15 years old. The event witnessed participants from Australia, Europe, Italy, Spain, Britain and Asian countries. The event’s prime objective was to improve the racing dexterity making the drivers more vigilant, rapid in their reaction times and enhance their handling skills while taking a camber on the race track at blisteringly quick velocities. Winter was cited as the ideal season to train the drivers before they take off for other racing events in their respective nations.

The FIA Grade 1 Yas Marina Circuit provided a reveling backdrop to watch and feel the excitement as it welcomed two qualifications and three races. It was here that Rashid Al Dhaheri clinched to make it among the top-3 during the practice rounds. It demonstrated his sincere effort and proficiency needed to stand out in such endurance races where leapfrogging rivals in narrow gaps at high speeds isn’t a cakewalk. This incumbent led him to conquer multiple points ultimately leading to a podium finish.

As Rashid progresses, the competition is set to intensify on a full-bore professional Grand Prix track layout during the second phase which will be held from January 19-21. This is anticipated to arouse inquisitiveness in the minds of audience and the contestants as this is one of the early attempts to grapple with the opponents for victory. A real test of skill, determination and strategy is likely to happen here.

To make the drivers capable enough of tackling all types of asphalts and race tracks, they will be undergoing practice in five rounds where races will be held at Yas Marina Circuit and Dubai Autodrome. This will make them abreast of the varied challenges that can be expected, especially when accelerating hard as an optimal balance between speed and handling would be required. Things can go astray in even a blink of the eye. What better than these grounds to turn the novice of today into a racing stalwart of tomorrow!

Doughty Rashid deserves to be applauded for making such a heroic early start in racing. He has achieved much fandom from people, racing enthusiasts and those associated with the arena for his dedication to keep soaring in this critical ambit. It would’ve been a dream come true for him as he evolved dramatically from spectating a racetrack at the age of 3 to seeing thousands of people cheering and spectating him. In the past, he has secured accolades in Macao International Kart Grand Prix and clinched a victory at the Sepang International Circuit last year, while being the youngest. He’s currently associated with SJM Theodore PREMA Racing in F4 to battle it out in the Italian Formula 4 Championship and the Euro4 Championship. Notwithstanding the success, the youth icon has received at such a tender age, it’s stupefying to see his humility around everyone, setting the tone for him to become a connoisseur in this dynamic realm of motorsport.
