BMW Takes the Covers Off their New 2 Series

BMW has unveiled the all-new 2 Series which is a replacement for the 1 Series. It is set to officially debut in 2014 North American Auto Show in January. It is more on the lines of the 1 Series Coupe and two variants will be launched – 228i and M235i. The specs of the variants are as follows.

The 228i:

-2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine

-240 Bhp and 258 lb-ft of torque

-8 speed auto (6 speed manual optional)

-0-100 km/h in under 5.5 s

While the M235i:

-3.0 liter twin-turbo inline six

-322 Bhp and 332 lb-ft of torque

-0-100 km/h in under 5 s

-8 speed auto (6 speed manual optional)

-Top speed: 250 km/h

Both cars feature the Driving Experience Control – a switch that allows driver to choose the different driving modes. Pricing for 228i starts at $32,100 (AED 120,000 approx) and M235i starts at $43,100 (AED 160,000 approx).
