Quick Review

The Toyota Aurion, essentially a Camry with a V6 engine has undergone significant changes for the 2012 model.

Apart from cosmetic changes with the front and rear end, the Toyota Aurion is now slightly longer and lighter than the previous model.

The powerful 3.5 liter 6 cylinder engine comes packed with 268 horsepower and 352 Nm. With an impressive 0 – 100 Km/h time of 7.2 seconds, the Aurion is not one to be taken lightly.

In terms of the interior, Toyota has increased the space in the rear seats for the new model. The use of wood grain and leather, make the Aurion feel extremely luxurious when seated inside. If you opt for the top model, a 10 speaker audio system ensures your music sounds better than ever before. However, there are too many controls on the audio panel, making it unduly overcomplicated. Overall, the drive definitely feels a lot more luxurious than the earlier models.

From the exterior, the new Aurion is only 10 mm longer and 5 mm wider than the previous model. In our opinion, the Aurion bears more resemblance to a Lexus than a Camry with a stylish front end and large chrome grille.

Essentially, what Toyota has achieved with new Aurion is a car of similar quality and features to a Lexus, that won’t cost you as much. It is fair to say that the 2012 Aurion is more of a driver’s car than its predecessors. Having said that, the price tag for this Toyota is higher than it's predecessors too so be prepared to pay more if you're a regular Toyota buyer.
