Quick Overview

The 2014 Mazda 6 is a far cry from what the previous generation. The new one is possibly one of the best midsize sedans cars on the market with its striking design, brand new engines and classy interiors; it is a very strong contender in the segment dominated by the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan Altima.

The 2014 Mazda 6 is completely new, a reworked chassis that offers both sporty and comfort orientated characteristics. Mazda has employed a new design for the 6, and it looks very sporty, with a low roof and curvaceous shape, it is the best looking Japanese sedan in its class. For 2014, Mazda has brought in new engines, dubbed "SKYACTIV" which is designed for fuel efficiency in mind but offers strong and relentless power throughout the rev-range. A choice of two engines are available both with four cylinders, a 2.0 Litre with 155 HP or a 2.5 Litre making 184 HP mated to an excellent and intelligent 6 speed automatic. The Mazda 6's sporty design isn't just for show, this car handles very well, it is agile and frisky all while having a comfortable ride and becomes a very dignified car when it needs to be.

Inside, the Mazda 6 has a very modern, simple and logical interior, well built, solid feel with quality materials. It is a nice place to be in, although not as roomy as its other Japanese rivals. Standard equipment is decent; there is a new touch screen in the centre stack, with voice-command functionality. The system has USB, iPod, and auxiliary jacks, Bluetooth connectivity for phones and digital music, plus a few knobs to make digital late-bloomers comfortable and a host of optional extras are available to suit any buyer's needs.
