We all loved lego models, didn’t we? Building our dream cars by joining all the tiny bricks was so, so satisfying. But what if, by building a Lego model you actually build a 1:1 replica of your dream car. That’s exactly what Lego has done with the 1:1 model of the Lamborghini Sián which was built using more than 400,000 bricks.
The model shares all its proportions with the actual supercar and measures 4,980 mm in length, 2,101 mm in width and 1,133 mm in height. Lego says that 15 of its specialists took a whopping 8660 hours to design and build this amazing model. 154 types of Technic pieces were used to build this and Lambo claims that 20 of them had to be moulded and produced specifically for this 1:1 Lego model.
Despite being made from Lego pieces, the front and rear lights can be lighted up using a control panel. The lime green colour, which has become synonymous with the Sián, was applied to the model by Lamborghini themselves. And the fun doesn’t end there as this model has an actual interior which has seats, a steering wheel, and even paddle shifters!
Lena Dixen, Senior Vice President of Products and Marketing at the LEGO Group, said: “Our designers love challenges. They worked with the incredible designers and engineers from our production workshop at the Kladno factory in the Czech Republic, and really pushed back the boundaries of what can be done with LEGO Technic. Thanks to the scope for creativity provided by the system, they’ve truly done justice to the exceptional design of the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37.”
Federico Foschini, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Lamborghini, commented: “This 1:1 scale model of the Sián shows that Lamborghini – just like Lego – sees challenges as its lifeblood, technology as a means of creation, and design as a linchpin that can and must take people’s breath away.”
The 1:1 Lego Sián will be showcased at the Lamborghini museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy from July 25 till October 6.
