Paid Parking Sharjah

Popular residential area, Al Nahda, which enjoys its proximity to Al Ittihad Road and Dubai, has seen an increasing number of tenants and visitors struggle with the parking situation over the past few years. With every abandoned sand lot turning into an illegal parking zone, Sharjah Municipality has installed new paid parking meters that will begin operation immediately.

With proper, paved parking lots, Sharjah Municipality has installed parking meters from behind Al Ittihad Road, all the way down to Al Nahda Park until the Sharjah-Dubai border, past Sahara Mall, and across Al Nahda Road. Parking tariffs in the emirate of Sharjah are AED 2 for one hour, AED 5 for two hours, and AED 8 for three hours.

“Sharjah City Municipality announces that the public parking spaces in Al Nahda area between Al Etihad street, Malaqa street and Tolaitolah street will be paid parking zones, effective as from December 28, 2019,” announced Sharjah Municipality in a statement issued over the weekend.

With an increase in tourism in the area, there has been an increase in demand for parking spaces in frequently-visited neighborhoods. To prevent the misuse of parking lots and to ensure availability throughout the day, organized parking spaces with meters was the only solution to cater to residents’ needs. Making life easier, Sharjah Municipality has also rolled out a new feature of SMS parking that allows motorists to pay for up to five hours in one go.
