Lexus Design Award 2023: Call for Entries

At the heart of a company, lies the design for its products as the single most integral function to captivate the brand’s fastidious audience always searching for something voluptuous that also serves as a resplendence of their charisma. To allow itself and the world have a glance at the future of design and philosophies, it has been organising the much coveted and extravagant event, “Lexus Design Award 2023: Call for Entries’ since 2013 as a template to scaffold the designers of tomorrow letting them explore their path-breaking ideas, delving deeper into the field of design and architecture and receiving guidance in secondary stages from some of the world’s most renowned experts in the field for mentoring. 

With its aim pinned on making the novice designers burgeon in the field, this competition has evolved to facilitate a program where four winners will be chosen from the entries received and a delegation of judges will probe into each individual’s idea which will be followed by a conclave with the winners.

The winners will have to devise the designs with a crystal clear focus on sustainability and innovation and elaborate on how their designs do justice to the three pillars of Lexus’ design philosophy of ‘Anticipate, Innovate and Captivate.’ The design should provide bodacious outlook by explaining the process by which the creations conquer the all-pervasive bottlenecks presented to the society, judiciousness of the preliminary sketch and demeanour by which the maximum number of benefits can be loaned to the society accentuating the nifty nature of the design. The designs must be a paradigm epitome of form and function both, while not being negligent to being involving, thought-provoking and radically new.

Once the convoy of connoisseurs declare the four winners, they will be preached under their guidance to improve their foundation and imbibe new laws, tactics and understanding of neoteric designs. For revamping their designs further, a budget of circa AED 83,000 will be bequeathed to each contestant, also for model fabrication and other related costs. By the spring of 2023, the winners will take wraps off their respective accomplishments post which, their work will be put under investigation by the fraternity of esteemed judges. Following this, the winners shall receive a larger-than-life chance for a rendezvous with the evaluators. Not just will their response be solicited, but the winners will even receive an opportunity to elicit their understanding of design and receive direction on their future ambitions and career trajectory that would unfurl a momentous path conducive to their success in this highly exhilarating but challenging profession.
