On our recent trip to Abu Dhabi for the launch of the all-new Infiniti Q30, we speak to Mr. Humayun Alam – General Manager of Sales at Al Masaood Automobiles. Revealing a great amount of information, he gives us his insights on the brand’s current performance, future plans, and upcoming models in the region.
Q. How is Infiniti fairing regionally in comparison to its rivals?
Keeping in mind that Infiniti is a relatively new brand compared to other established formalities in the market, I’d have to say they’ve done fairly well. Not only have they maintained, but they’ve also managed to increase market share.

Q. What are your views on the current UAE car market?
As mentioned earlier, there is a decline of around 19% in the Total Industry Volume (TIV) but when it comes to the luxury segment, the impact hasn’t been so severe. The Infiniti Q30 aims to bring in greater footfall to the showrooms as we’re targeting a segment of the market we couldn’t before.
Q. How many Q30 models are you expecting to sell on an annual basis?
At this point in time, numbers are still in the pipeline, and only time can tell. In a year, when we’re sitting here together, hopefully I’ll have some good news for you.

Q. Could you shed some light on upcoming models from Infiniti?
While this sort of information should come from the regional office, I can tell you that two new models are expected and they will be a part of the brand’s SUV line-up.
Q. Finally, could tell our readers why they should consider purchasing an Infiniti?
As a brand, Infiniti offers great value for money and all the technology one could ever dream of. Its reputation as a luxury offering, is also the reason that the brand has seen increasing sales in recent years.
