The supercar trinity comprises of the Ferrari La Ferrari, the Porsche 918 Spyder, and the McLaren P1 – all of which are yet to battle it out in a head-to-head carnage. Founded in Sveta Nedelja in 2009, Rimac Automobili has grown significantly and has gone on to employing over 100 employees and building its first production car. A production car which accelerates from 0 – 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, hits a top speed of 355 km/h and whips out 1,088 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque.
Mate Rimac, CEO of Rimac Automobili, is quoted as saying, “The Concept_One achieves today what many wouldn’t consider achievable even in the future. It shows that the future of transportation is not boring or slow but fun and better in every way. It takes the fear of the future away and makes us excited and awaited.”
Best described as an engineering marvel, the Concept_One utilizes the world’s highest power density motor system to power each of its wheels individually. Each motor is coupled to a proprietary gearbox system – single-speed gearboxes up front and two-speed double-clutch gearboxes at the rear.
Additionally, the Concept_One’s battery pack delivers 1MW of power during acceleration and absorbs up to 400 kW during braking. Is there anything else like it out there? We doubt it!
